I started getting lash extensions in December 2018. When I got pregnant with Oakley, we had to start modifying my appointments since you’re not supposed to lay on your back for an extended period of time. Then, the pandemic hit, and lash salons were one of the first places to close. I was forced to either get rid of my lashes, find someone to come over to do them at my house (no way), or find a way to do them myself. Luckily, Lashify had just come out, and I fell in love with how easy they are to apply. I’ve been using them since the spring of 2020!
The Benefits
- I can do it myself
- I no longer need an appointment every few weeks
- They take less than 3 minutes to apply instead of 60+ minutes
- You can reuse the lashes if you remove them and clean the glue properly
- They do not ruin your natural lashes
- Save hundreds of dollars a month
- You can take them off when you want and apply them when you want
- No allergic reactions
- Fix anything on your own
Items To Get Started
- Lashify has an overwhelming amount of lashes, products, and “nice to haves” on its website. You don’t need much, and I have been slowly adding to what I use over the last 4+ years. This list is what I started with based on the research and the YouTube videos I watched. If you order the control kit, you won’t need anything else to start
- Control Kit
- Comes with:
- One Lash Style (I recommend using their eye analyzer to see what style fits you best)
- Control Wand (to apply lashes)
- Bonder and Sealer
- Storage Kit
- Samples of Pre-Cleanse and Melt-Away (I recommend ordering full-size versions of these, too)
- Comes with:
- Pre – Cleanse (lasts months)
- Melt – Away Full Size (lasts months)
- More Lashes (once you determine which style/length you like). I’ve been using Plushy 17mm for about six months and love it. Everyone’s eye shapes are different, so finding the lash that fits you is the hardest part, but their website CS , team, and eye analyzer are amazing resources to use. They also offer discounts on lashes if you subscribe to a monthly shipment
- Bond (lasts months)
- Sealer (lasts months)
Add – Ons
- Everything above plus the following:
- Storage Case for Travel
- Mirror with Stand
- Charcoal Cotton Swabs
FAQs
- If you are a stomach sleeper, you can either take the lashes off each night or use a lash pillow
- You can reuse the lashes; clean any remaining glue off the base with the “melt-away” product
- Always use melt-away; don’t just rip the lashes off your eyes, and this will damage your natural lashes
- They offer hundreds of different color, length, and volume options
- I’ve been using the same applicator since day one. As you can reuse the lashes, I truly think my cost for each application is less than $2 instead of $100+
- The longest I have kept a set of lashes on is three weeks when we were in Tanzania (I have no idea why I remember this), but on average, they last a week before I remove and apply again. If I am using the sauna that night, I will remove them before getting in. Again- it takes minimal time to remove and apply, so removing nightly and applying in the morning takes less than 5 minutes in total
