Mulberry Pie

A seasonal favorite in our house, mulberry pie! I don’t do a ton of baking because one of us is usually always dieting and homemade sweets in the house are the biggest pitfall to sticking to a meal plan. That being said- neither of us can pass up mulberry pie! Minimal ingredients are needed (if you don’t have mulberries, you can sub blackberries)

Ingredients

  • 3 cups fresh mulberries
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 pie crusts (I do store bought, if you are great with puff pastry, more power to you)
  • 1/4 cup flour

Directions

  • Set oven to 425
  • Spray pie pan
  • Place one pie crust on bottom of bottom
  • In a bag, smash mulberries
  • In a bowl, add sugar and flour to mulberries
  • Spread mixture onto bottom pie crust
  • Add top pie crust and score
  • Bake at 425 for 10 minutes and then reduce heat to 350 for 35-45 minutes (until top is golden brown)
  • Cool on wire rack
