Baked Venison Rigatoni

As a busy mom of two, I am always a huge fan of an easy (and delicious), home cooked meal! As always, you can sub the venison for any other meat you have!

Ingredients

  • 2lbs ground venison- browned
  • 1 medium onion- diced
  • 1 TBSP italian seasoning
  • 1 TBSP garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 5 cups tomato pasta sauce (roughly 2 jars)
  • 500g rigatoni pasta (about 1lb)
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

Directions

  • Set oven to 350
  • In a large saucepan, brown ground venison and onion over medium heat until browned and onion has softened. Drain any juices
  • Add seasonings
  • Add the pasta sauce and cook on low for 5 minutes, set aside
  • Meanwhile, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add pasta, cook until al dente
  • Reserve 1/2 cup pasta water and drain pasta. Stir reserved pasta water into meat
  • Combine pasta and pasta sauce
  • Pouring lightly greased 9×13
  • Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes
  • Enjoy!
