Postpartum Recovery- Must Have Items

sarah bowmar postpartum

We spend so much time getting our baby registry ready, the nursery, the hospital bag, the outfits, the toys, etc but so few women spend time getting what THEY need to have at home after giving birth. I have been through this postpartum journey twice now and feel I have a pretty no-BS list that will help any mom to be as prepared as possible to assist in the best PP journey possible!

I also didn’t want to make a completely overwhelming list. Obviously there’s a lot more that’s needed, in the breastfeeding category for example, if you are going to pump, you will need a pump. I just wanted to list items that may be overlooked or not even considered! As always, with supplements, please consult your OB with questions.

Postpartum Care Products

  • Afterease (for uterine cramping)
  • Throw Away Underwear
  • Numbing Spray
  • Ice Packs
  • Postpartum Vitamins
  • Sitz Bath Soak (if doctor has approved)
  • Perineal Bottle

Breastfeeding

  • Nipple Relief Cream
  • Milk Duct and Engorgement Relief
  • Breast Ice Packs
  • Haakaa Milk Collector
  • Lactation Cookies
  • Large Water Bottle
  • Electrolytes

Grateful for a no BS list! I’m 37 weeks and finalizing my preparations for postpartum. Thank you for sharing your journey and what has helped you!
