I’ve been having breakfast sandwiches each morning and also am beginning my nesting phase (baby is due in 20 days), so I decided to make two loaves of honey wheat bread tonight! The recipe was extremely simple, you don’t need a bread maker, and took less than 90 minutes to make (baking included)!
Ingredients:
- 3 cups warm water
- 1 TBSP active dry yeast
- 2/3 cup honey
- 1/3 cup oil (any kind, I used avocado)
- 7 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
- 1 TBSP salt
Directions:
- Heat oven to warm / prove at 200 degrees F
- In a large mixing bowl, combine water, honey, and yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes
- Add oil, salt, and flour (I add cup by cup, stirring in between each cup). Using a mixer or by hand, knead for 10 minutes
- Shape into two bread loves. Spray loaf tins with non-stick cooking spray. Put pans in oven for 20 minutes (should double in size)
- Leave bread in oven, increase temperature to 350 and set timer for 25 minutes
- Top should be golden brown when finished
- Bread can be frozen or eat within 2 days of baking
