Honey Wheat Sandwich Bread

I’ve been having breakfast sandwiches each morning and also am beginning my nesting phase (baby is due in 20 days), so I decided to make two loaves of honey wheat bread tonight! The recipe was extremely simple, you don’t need a bread maker, and took less than 90 minutes to make (baking included)!

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups warm water
  • 1 TBSP active dry yeast
  • 2/3 cup honey
  • 1/3 cup oil (any kind, I used avocado)
  • 7 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 TBSP salt

Directions:

  1. Heat oven to warm / prove at 200 degrees F
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine water, honey, and yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes
  3. Add oil, salt, and flour (I add cup by cup, stirring in between each cup). Using a mixer or by hand, knead for 10 minutes
  4. Shape into two bread loves. Spray loaf tins with non-stick cooking spray. Put pans in oven for 20 minutes (should double in size)
  5. Leave bread in oven, increase temperature to 350 and set timer for 25 minutes
  6. Top should be golden brown when finished
  7. Bread can be frozen or eat within 2 days of baking
