Here is another venison recipe from the Bowmar kitchen! Josh and I have processed all of our deer ourselves this year and I am really excited to bring this recipe to you guys. If anyone is interested in watching the video of where this meat came from, check out this video from our Bowmar Bowhunting Youtube channel. Venison and wild game does not just have to be in chili. I love getting creative with wild game and this is the perfect way to do that! So many people are afraid to eat wild game because they are unsure of how it will taste, but this recipe guarantees no “gamey” taste and full satisfaction. I hope you enjoy it as much as my family and I do!
Ingredients
4 cups vegetable broth
8 oz cream cheese
3 lbs ground venison*
2 cans Italian sliced tomatoes
20 oz three cheese tortellini
Directions
- Brown the ground venison
- In a crockpot add broth, tomatoes, meat, and cream cheese
- Cook on high for 4 hours
- 30 minutes prior to eating add in the tortellini
- Enjoy!
*you do not have to use venison, you can use any type of meat
This recipe can be served with garlic bread, broccoli, squash, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Zinfandel, Chardonnay, Merlot, Riesling, and Sangiovese. This recipe is good for tailgating, entertaining, or large families because it makes so many servings. Bring this out at your next party and you will guarantee that your guests will want to come over again. However, don’t worry if there’s just you, the leftovers are just as fantastic as the original meal! I can’t wait for you all to try it.
