Ingredients
- Bar Ingredients
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted and cooled
- 1 cup old-fashioned oats
- 1 cup Kamut flour or 1 cup + 2 TBSP all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup light brown sugar, packed
- 1 large egg- room temperature
- 1 TBSP molasses or honey
- Icing Ingredients
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1-2 TBSP whole milk
Directions
- In a skillet over medium heat, brown butter. Let it cook until light brown, and then remove from heat. Pour into a medium sized bowl to cool
- Set oven to 350 and spray or line a 9 x 9 with oil or parchment paper
- In a bowl, combine all bar ingredients together
- Pour into pan and spread evenly
- Bake for 20 – 24 minutes or until the edges are set and the top is a rich brown. Do not overcook, or the bars will be dry
- Let cool for at least an hour
- Mix icing ingredients and ice the squares
- Enjoy!
