Vanilla Protein Powdered Donuts (LOW Sugar)

These donuts were super easy and contained 7-8g of protein per donut (based on the type of flour and protein powder used). Mine had 8 using Kamut flour and Bowmar Nutrition protein (not too shabby for a low-sugar donut)! 

Ingredients (yields 6 standard-sized donuts)

  • Donuts
    • 3/4 cup Kamut flour (or 1 cup all-purpose)
    • 1 scoop Bowmar Nutrition Vanilla Bean protein
    • 1/2 banana- mashed
    • 2 TBSP honey
    • 2 1/2 TBSP milk
    • 2 tsp baking powder
    • 1 whole egg
    • 1 tsp vanilla extract
    • 1/4 tsp almond extract
  • Powdered Frosting
    • 1 scoop Bowmar Nutrition Vanilla Bean Protein
    • 3 TBSP powdered sugar

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 350
  • Spray donut pan (6)
  • In a bowl, combine all donut ingredients
  • Fill donut pan by spooning and spreading or using a zip lock bag and piping dough in
  • Bake for 7-9 minutes
  • Remove from pan and onto cooling rack
  • In a plastic zip-loc or paper bag, add powdered frosting ingredients
  • Once the donuts are cooled, add 2 to the bag at a time and shake to coat
  • Enjoy immediately
