These donuts were super easy and contained 7-8g of protein per donut (based on the type of flour and protein powder used). Mine had 8 using Kamut flour and Bowmar Nutrition protein (not too shabby for a low-sugar donut)!
Ingredients (yields 6 standard-sized donuts)
- Donuts
- 3/4 cup Kamut flour (or 1 cup all-purpose)
- 1 scoop Bowmar Nutrition Vanilla Bean protein
- 1/2 banana- mashed
- 2 TBSP honey
- 2 1/2 TBSP milk
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1 whole egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp almond extract
- Powdered Frosting
- 1 scoop Bowmar Nutrition Vanilla Bean Protein
- 3 TBSP powdered sugar
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350
- Spray donut pan (6)
- In a bowl, combine all donut ingredients
- Fill donut pan by spooning and spreading or using a zip lock bag and piping dough in
- Bake for 7-9 minutes
- Remove from pan and onto cooling rack
- In a plastic zip-loc or paper bag, add powdered frosting ingredients
- Once the donuts are cooled, add 2 to the bag at a time and shake to coat
- Enjoy immediately
