Ok this will absolutely be in the weekly rotation for us and it will definitely be on the menu whenever we have guests in town (it made a ton- which do reheat nicely)! As always, use whatever meat you have access to
Ingredients
- Gravy
- 2lbs maple venison sausage (or pork)
- 4 cups milk
- 8 eggs
- 1/2 cup flour
- 3 TBSP butter
- 3/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- Biscuits
- 1/2 cup softened butter
- 1 cup flour
- 1.5 cups protein biscuits and gravy mix
- 1 TBSP baking powder
- 1 TBSP sugar
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 cup milk
Directions
- Gravy
- Heat oven to 350
- Spray 9 x 13 glass pan with cooking spray
- Brown sausage in a skillet over medium heat. Once cooked, layer glass pan
- In bowl, add egg and whisk
- Add over sausage
- Add butter to skillet and melt. Add flour, salt, pepper over medium heat and stir. Cook 2-3 minutes
- Add milk, one cup at a time. Whisk or use a dough hook on low, stirring often until thickened
- Pour gravy over eggs in pan
- Biscuits
- Once gravy is in pan, begin the biscuits
- Mix all ingredients in a bowl
- Grab golf ball sized dough at a time and layer on top of gravy
- Bake 25-30 minutes until biscuits are golden brown. Serve warm
