Sea Salt Sourdough Brownies

I have absolutely fell in love with sourdough and baking all the things with it! Oakley asked to make brownies the other day and they turned out perfect!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup melted butter
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup sourdough discard
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 TBSP vanilla
  •  2 3/4 cup al purpose flour (if you are using Kamut flour like I did, use 2 1/4 cup Kamut)
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt + more for topping

Directions

  • Set oven to 350
  • In a bowl, combine sugar and butter with a dough hook or wooden spoon. Add discard, eggs, and vanilla
  • Add flour, baking powder, salt, and cocoa
  • Spray a 12×17 jelly roll plan or 9 x 13 glass pan
  • Spread batter and drop with chocolate chips. Gently press down the chips into the top of the batter
  • Bake at 350 for 30 minutes in jelly roll pan or 35 minutes in glass pan
  • Sprinkle with sea salt to finish
