Brownies are great but they take a lot of time- these brownie cookies will give you the same chocolatey goodness but half the time. Plus- they will use up some of your sourdough discard! If you don’t have discard, a substitute is provided below!
Ingredients
- 2 cups chocolate chips – divided
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 2 large eggs
- 2 1/4 cups flour
- 1/4 cup sourdough discard
- 3/4 cup cocoa powder
- 2 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup milk
- Powdered sugar for topping
- *if you are not using discard, use an additional egg
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350
- In a saucepan, melt butter, 1 cup chocolate chips, milk- whisk together
- In a bowl, combine all remaining ingredients and add in chocolate mix (I didn’t have enough semi-sweet chips so added white chocolate chips)
- On a parchment covered cookie sheet, spoon 2 TBSP batter
- Bake for 8-10 minutes
- Let cool on cooling rack
- Sift powdered sugar on top once cooled
