Sarah Bowmar here- and I am so excited to share we welcomed our son, Dean, into this world on March 7! I do have my daughter, Oakley’s, sleep schedule in a blog as well if you would like to check it out. Since having Oakley, I became a certified Baby-Led sleep specialist / practitioner. It was a 250 hour course and you can read more about it here if you are interested!
I am extremely excited to utilize what I learned during the certification with my own son and to put my knowledge to use! This blog will be one that I update about once a month with any new updates to his sleep schedule.
Month 1
- The first month, with any child, is just offer naps on demand every 45 – 120 minutes as they show signs of tiredness- yawning, not looking at you, rubbing their eyes, etc. You want to try to not get to the point where they are past the ideal window to fall asleep as this will result in shorter naps or an extremely difficult time getting them down. The first two weeks, he was strictly contact napping and sleeping in his bassinet at night. Weeks 3 and 4 he has been doing all naps in his bassinet. He has been averaging 15.5 hours of sleep per day the entire first month of life and waking two to three times in the middle of the night
