We are currently in Orlando and we have our almost 6 month old- Oakley- with us on this trip! I have learned a lot of this trip as well as the research I did from my mom friends and other bloggers!
Dos:
- Attach something to your stroller to make it stand out- this was the number 1 tip from everyone I talked to!
- Utilize the baby care centers to nurse, make a bottle, take a break- they are air conditioned!
- Generic tips for almost anywhere with a baby: pack extra clothes, extra diapers, extra wipes, etc
- We are here during the “winter” and it is still 60 so this tip didn’t apply to us but there are a lot of indoor attractions (air conditioned) to take baby if they are getting too hot: The Hall of Presidents (Magic Kingdom), the “O Canada!” show in Canada (Epcot), Journey of the Little Mermaid (Hollywood Studios) and It’s Tough to Be a Bug (Animal Kingdom).
- Take baby on rides! The list is extensive so it is at the end of the blog!
- Bring a carrier if older baby likes them OR if it isn’t the middle of summer- babies don’t sweat and the extra material can overheat them!
- Reference my “Disney Eats” blog to make sure you still enjoy your time as the parent!
- As always- check the weather!
Don’ts:
- Put sunscreen on baby unless they are over 6 months old. I do know our doctor mentioned (typically) a baby over 3 months can have sunscreen on as long as you do a test on their wrist first AND wash it all off before bed. This is something that needs to be discussed with the doctor and it may not be wise to take a really young baby out in the heat and the sun to Disney!
- Don’t forget to use Ride Swap- this allows you to
