Ingredients
- Cookie Bars
- 1.5 sticks (3/4 cup) butter- softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 large egg
- 2 tsp almond extract
- 2 cups Kamut flour or 2.5 cups All-Purpose
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 3/4 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- Frosting
- 1 stick (1/2 cup) butter, softened
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 2 tsp almond extract
- 3 cups powdered sugar
Directions
- Spray 8 x 8 baking pan or line with parchment paper
- Cream the granulated sugar and butter together. Gently sift in powdered sugar and beat again until fluffy
- Add the egg and almond extract and mix until smooth
- Add remaining ingredients and beat until well combined
- Press the dough together with your hands and press evenly into the prepped dish
- Bake for 15 minutes or until the sides puff up and the top starts to crack
- Let cool COMPLETELY before making frosting
- Beat the frosting ingredients together until fluffy and frost
- Enjoy!
