Pull Apart Pizza Cups

I have been seeing these all over TikTok, so I decided to try them with a little spin of my own!

I made homemade pizza dough from The Food Nanny, but you can always buy store-bought if you don’t want to. Skip ahead if doing so!

Pizza Dough Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm water 105-115 degrees
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 ½ cups White Kamut flour (3.5 cups all-purpose flour)

Pizza Dough Directions

  • Mix the yeast and water in a small bowl, cover, and let stand until foamy, 5 to 10 minutes
  • Mix the oil, honey, salt, and yeast in a large bowl. If using a food processor, add 1 cup of flour at a time, up to 3 cups, mixing well after each addition. Depending on your machine, you may have to stir in the third cup of flour by hand. Or mix in all 3 cups of flour by hand with a wooden spoon
  • If the dough seems too wet, mix in more flour, 1/4 cup at a time, until the dough is soft. Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead in more flour, 1/4 cup at a time, until the dough is moderately stiff and somewhat firm to the touch, about 6 minutes
  • Lightly grease pizza pan(s) or a cookie sheet (s) with oil. With a rolling pin, roll out the dough on a floured surface
  • Let the dough rise (it will not rise very much) while you make sauce and continue with the pizza recipe of your choice

Pizza Cup Ingredients

GARLIC BUTTER

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons parsley, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt, or to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano

FOR ASSEMBLY

  • 1 pound pizza dough (recipe above makes the right amount of dough needed)
  • 1 cup marinara sauce (I used my own from the garden)
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded or pearls
  • 8 ounces turkey pepperoni (we had some wild turkey pepperoni)
  • Italian seasoning

Pizza Cup Instructions (Makes 12)

MAKE THE GARLIC BUTTER
  1. Mix butter with parsley, garlic, parmesan, salt, black pepper, and oregano in a small bowl. Set aside.
ASSEMBLE AND BAKE
  1. Brush a cupcake tin with the garlic butter in each cup
  2. Divide the dough into equal pieces, about the size of a golf ball
  3. Place each dough ball into each cupcake, cover tightly, and place in a warm place to proof until double in size.
  4. Preheat the oven to 350°F
  5. Once double in size, punch down the center and press the edges up to form a cup shape.
  6. Brush the inside of each cup with more garlic butter
  7. To each cup, add marinara sauce, mozzarella cheese, two pieces of pepperoni, more marinara, one pepperoni, and cover the top with more cheese. Sprinkle Italian seasoning on top
  8. Pop in the oven to bake for 15 minutes until golden and bubbly on top
  9. Remove from the oven and allow to cool for 5 minutes before enjoying
