Sourdough Brownie Cookies

Brownies are great but they take a lot of time- these brownie cookies will give you the same chocolatey goodness but half the time. Plus- they will use up some of your sourdough discard! If you don’t have discard, a substitute is provided below!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups chocolate chips – divided
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 1/4 cups flour
  • 1/4 cup sourdough discard
  • 3/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 2 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • Powdered sugar for topping
  • *if you are not using discard, use an additional egg

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 350
  • In a saucepan, melt butter, 1 cup chocolate chips, milk- whisk together
  • In a bowl, combine all remaining ingredients and add in chocolate mix (I didn’t have enough semi-sweet chips so added white chocolate chips)
  • On a parchment covered cookie sheet, spoon 2 TBSP batter
  • Bake for 8-10 minutes
  • Let cool on cooling rack
  • Sift powdered sugar on top once cooled
